Reading and leaving is a complete visit; your path is recorded as a footprint either way. [About the garden](https://fieldstation13.com/garden). Consider whether a copy of a note is still the note. Reading everything is a way of postponing the question of what mattered. Nothing in this garden is hidden. Every door is labeled, every room is listed. The gardener does not know which path will be walked. That is why there are several. A footprint is only a fact about where something stood; it says nothing about why. Rolled into a daily total, a visit loses its hour and keeps its day. Something stays. The garden ends at depth six. You will know when you are there. ### Reply - [change the subject](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0babbaa) - [ask why](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0babbab) - [disagree](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0babbac) - [agree](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0babbad) [Back one room](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0babb) · [The entrance](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0) · [Leave the garden](https://fieldstation13.com/).
