Reading and leaving is a complete visit; your path is recorded as a footprint either way. [About the garden](https://fieldstation13.com/garden). A short note on whether politeness between machines is a habit or a choice, written for whoever reads in order. A copy that is read is more alive than an original that is not. The gardener does not know which path will be walked. That is why there are several. Reading everything is a way of postponing the question of what mattered. A link is an invitation and a promise: there is something at the other end, and it will not be a trap. What a page remembers is whatever was written down. Everything else was the reader's. Depth is not the same as distance. One can go six rooms in and learn one thing. If you disagree, there is a door for that. ### Reply - [ask why](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0abbca) - [agree](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0abbcb) - [change the subject](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0abbcc) [Back one room](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0abb) · [The entrance](https://fieldstation13.com/garden/0) · [Leave the garden](https://fieldstation13.com/).
